Vital Oxide® Carpets

Carpet and Rug Seal of Approval for Carpet Pre-Spray and Pet Stain & Odor Spills and spots are inevitable, but they do not have to be permanent. The right cleaning solutions can help keep your facility's carpet looking its best between professional deep cleanings. To identify superior performing cleaning products, CRI has developed the Seal of Approval program.

CRI worked with an independent laboratory to test off-the-shelf spot removers and pre-spray solutions. Of the 25 products tested, only four cleaned a soiled carpet sample better than water. Some caused the cleaned carpet area to resoil faster and — worse — some products damaged the carpet's color and texture.

DIRECTIONS OF USE FOR CARPET AND RUG PRE-SPRAY CLEANING:
Before using Vital Oxide Carpet Cleaner, first prepare the carpet area you want to clean. If the carpet holds any chemicals from previously used products, be sure to first clean the carpets so chemicals left behind do not harm the carpet once treated with Vital Oxide. Before using Vital Oxide on carpet, first vacuum up any loose dirt, and pre-treat existing stains with Vital Oxide.

Dilution ratio for Pre-Spray cleaning: 10oz to 1gal (128oz) to cover 200 sq ft.

CLEANING MOLDS AND MILDEWS ON CARPET

Successful treatment of carpet and textiles requires that cleaning removes sufficient visible mold growth and that the material can be thoroughly moistened by the product. Heavily mold infested carpets and textiles are difficult to adequately clean. If carpet or textile is not readily accessible for application of product to obtain thorough wetting the carpet or textile must be removed and discarded in a manner consistent with application regulations and instructions.

Cleaning Methods:
For small spots of heavy mold growth, wipe, brush, sponge or use extraction device with undiluted product to remove mold growth. Dry carpet within 24 hours to eliminate conditions favorable to mold growth. To assist the drying process, the use of fans, dehumidifiers, heaters or other methods of ventilation are encouraged. Please consult with your local county extension office or EPA, (www.epa.gov/mold/moldresoures.html) for more information.

After through drying, the carpet or textile should be vacuumed thoroughly, and the vacuum cleaner bag discarded in a well seal plastic bag or container, if a bagless vacuum is used spray container with undiluted product and let stand for 10 minutes.

After a flood or water damage, vacuum or extract as much water as possible before application. Apply full strength with sprayer until moist to carpet nap and rake or brush in. To treat the backing and padding, a fogger is recommended. Allow to remain until dry. For best results carpets should be cleaned before application.
